No slowdown in trade with Cambodia

bangkokpost.com — Deputy Commerce Minister Wiroon Techapaiboon on Monday affirmed that the Thai government has no policy to slow investment and trade in Cambodia despite continued border tension from the military standoff related to the Preah Vihear temple dispute. Although there is some misunderstanding between Thailand and Cambodia over the issue, Mr. Wiroon said, the overall relations between both neighbours remains sound. Nevertheless he said he believes the dispute will last only for the short run, and that it could be settled within one month. At present, bilateral trade value has increased by up to 70 per cent with Thailand's importation of Cambodian products doubling, showing that normal trading activities are continuing smoothly.
