examiner.com — Lodi high school students and staff stuck in Thailand during anti-government protests will return to Wisconsin on Sunday.
Nine students and three staff members were among thousands of tourists stranded when protesters occupied two airports in Bangkok last week. They had been on a three-week exchange program.
Lodi High School principal Laura Love says the students and staff were never in harm's way. She says they were about 75 miles southeast of Bangkok when the protests started.
The group now plans to fly from Phuket to Singapore Friday, then from Tokyo to Chicago on Saturday and return to Lodi late Sunday. read more...

Livestock officials have called the 13 village headmen in the tambon to explain the situation to the residents and urge them to cull the tambon's chickens.
The Livestock Development Department will dispatch 40 officials this morning to Sukhothai, which has been declared a red zone, to organise a team with another 40 local officials to X-ray the 13 suspected areas in the province, spray disinfectants and set up checkpoints to stop poultry transport. read more...
